STARCHES AND DERIVATIVES IN THE PAPER INDUSTRY

We have a wide range of special corn, wheat, potato, tapioca and rice starches for the paper industry.

In the paper or cardboard manufacturing sector, starches have as their main objective to optimize performance and costs in the production process, as well as to improve the paper or cardboard technical characteristicas and quality. Our starches are used as binders, and
also to increase rigidity, internal and surface resistance of papers and cardboard, from printing and writing papers and tissue papers to papers and cardboards for packaging in the corrugated industry.

Starches and derivatives

Our engineering department manufactures special kitchen systems for starch development
in the paper industry. We are present on 5 continents with own production equipment, automatic starch modification systems special for spray application of starch in slurry for the bonding between layers of paper production in the application of starch on the surface, both in size press and speed sizer. Cationic starch cookers, thermochemical cookers for the
development of different types of starches and dextrins. www.starchkitchen.com

FEATURED PRODUCTS

NATIVE STARCHES

We offer a wide range of native starches from corn, wheat, potato and tapioca. All our starches are 100% natural products, derived from renewable raw materials such as cereals (corn and wheat) and also tubers (potato and tapioca).

Our technical department has extensive experience in the application of starches for the paper manufacturing process. We offer a personalized technical service to our customers to seek continuous improvement in performance and costs.

MODIFIED STARCHES

We have a wide range of modified starches soluble in cold or hot water, from corn, wheat, potato and tapioca.

Our modified starches are used for gluing of the paper surface, improving its technical
characteristics. Modified starch helps to considerably increase strength and softness, and
reduce dust in the process, and acts as a binder for inorganic fillers and pigments.

  • Cationic starches
  • Oxidized starches
  • Cross-linked starches
  • White dextrins
  • Yellow dextrins
  • Cold-soluble pregelatinized starches

Our engineering department (www.starchkitchen.com) offers its own design and
manufacture of fully automatic equipment for starch kitchens, storage silos, hoppers for big
bags with pneumatic or screw conveyors, and dosing of chemical products.
