Corrugated cardboard
We are leaders in the production and marketing of starches, adhesives and specialty chemicals for the corrugated cardboard industry.
Experience
Our history in the corrugated cardboard sector began in the 1960s and 1970s, working with
pioneers in machinery and European companies in the sector. We were instrumental in the
technological introduction of starches for adhesives, developing specialized equipment and
kitchens for starch adhesives. We were part of the innovation with the first Stein Hall
adhesives with native starches, and also led the way in the 1980s and 1990s with modified
starches. Since 2000, we have introduced advanced new technology starches such as OBM
– Ready Mix, which maximize performance on high-speed production lines. Our global reach
allows us to offer high-quality chemical solutions for the most demanding corrugated
cardboard configurations.

TECHNOLOGY
Our R+D department closely follows the latest market trends and works closely with
customers, machinery manufacturers and leading groups in the corrugated cardboard and
paper sector, as well as national and international associations. This interaction allows us to
develop starches and derivatives adapted to new technologies. With an international
presence, we work directly with our customers to improve performance, quality, sustainability
and costs, while maintaining a constant focus on innovation.

Objectives
Our main objective is to achieve an optimization of the corrugated cardboard production process in the following parameters:
-
Quality improvement
-
Minimization of paper waste
-
Decreased starch and adhesive consumption in gr/m2
-
Adhesion improvement
-
Improvement of adhesion guarantee at high speeds
-
Food safety guarantee
-
Sustainability guarantee
All these improvements are developed by carrying out a thorough technical study of the production center, the type of machinery and the paper qualities, as well as many other factors that influence the production of corrugated cardboard.
We evaluate and customize the technical projects based on the needs of the production plant.

Featured products
Ready mix type starches - OBM (BAG MIX)
We are specialists in the manufacture of OBM type starches for the corrugated cardboard
industry. We have a wide range of new technology prepared starch adhesives, OBM type
(ONE BAG MIX):
-
Special OBMs for the manufacture of corrugated cardboard at very high speeds of 300 – 450 m/min.
-
100% gluten-free OBMs, free of wheat starch with gluten allergens – Maximum guarantee of food safety.
-
OBM without SVHC or SEP substances, such as borax and boric acid.
-
Special OBMs for corrugated cardboard for the fruit sector with papers of high grammage and low porosity, such as Kraft or semi-chemicals.
-
OBM with adhesion resistance in contact with water and humidity, in accordance with regulations (FEFCO 9). Ideal for fruit and vegetable cardboard or maritime transport.
-
Special OBMs for the manufacture of single face cardboard for lamination with maximum flatness of the materials and a lower degree of humidity.

FEATURES
-
Unique for their technical characteristics, they are starch adhesives that are easy to manufacture.
-
They are manufactures in a single phase by mixing them with water, without adding borax, boric acid or caustic soda.
-
Maximum regularity, fast production in 10-15 minutes.
-
Greater performance, less paper waste, lower consumption of starch adhesive in gr/m2 and greater quality guarantee.
-
They have a better adhesion balance in the corrugating process.
-
Due to their technical characteristics, they have a different rheology compared to a conventional, old-technology adhesive such as Stein Hall or
Minocar, providing better application and stability of the adhesive in the process. -
The texture of the adhesive is short and has very good stability once manufactured and stored, it does not splash and is less dirty.
-
Our OBM type starch preparations optimize performance in many corrugated cardboard plants, and minimize cardboards and paper waste, preventing machine downtime, defective adhesions, speed reductions and irregularities in quality.
-
Our OBM starches are highly tested at international level on the most technological advanced corrugated cardboard machines.
-
OBM starches offer the full guarantee of a high-tech adhesive for the corrugating process.
SPECIALISTS IN ADDITIVES FOR CORRUGATED CARDBOARD
We produce a wide range of specific products for the corrugated cardboard industry. We are a technological partner in the chemical industry for the corrugated cardboard industry.
JP&SB INTERNATIONAL produces a wide variety of highly tested chemical products, with warranty and technical support.
The long-standing collaboration with our customers in the paper and corrugated cardboard
industry has led to a continuous development over the years. Our chemical technology specialized in the corrugated cardboard industry for the production of chemical products, modified starches, adhesives and engineering in starch equipment and kitchens, is the result of a wide portfolio of products and specialties for the corrugated cardboard industry.

ADDITIVES AND SPECIALTY CHEMICALS FOR CORRUGATED CARDBOARD
Despite constant innovation in machinery and the corrugated board industry, starch adhesives have evolved very little since the 1980s. The evolution of the packaging sector, technological advances and the growing commitment to the environment and sustainability
require continuous adaptation, based on our experience and agility. In this context, performance improvement, cost optimization, quality and sustainability have become the main objectives of corrugated board production plants.
Our DNA is based on starches, with more than 120 years of experience. We have been committed to the corrugated cardboard industry for more than 65 years, and our current and future focus is on commitment to the environment and sustainability.
