Starches and derivatives
Our corporate group is backed by an experience based on more than 120 years in
the starch and derivatives industry.
We are specialists in starch applications
Our origins date back to the early 20th century, when we started producing starches for the
food industry and its industrial use. In the mid-20th century, we were pioneers in Southern
Europe by introducing starches as raw material for adhesives in the corrugated cardboard
industry. We evolved technologically over time, and improved the production processes of
starch adhesives, using the first corrugated cardboard machines.
Throughout our history, we have expanded our presence in the industrial revolution, introducing starches and derivatives into various industries, such as the manufacture of cardboard tubes and paper bags, the construction industry, cement, plasterboard, metallurgy, renewable energy and biodegradable plastics, among other sectors.
Types of starches
We market and produce a large portfolio of native and modified starches, and Ready Mix
(OBM) starches.
Our starches can be derived from cereals such as corn and wheat and also from tubers such as potatoes and tapioca. We also have special starches from other sources for highly technical applications, such as rice starch.
